Claudio Ranieri "very proud" of Leicester City display

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri heaps praise on his squad after seeing them narrowly lose to Arsenal in Sunday's top-of-the-table showdown.

Claudio Ranieri has declared himself "very proud" of Leicester City's showing in their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Foxes held a slender lead at the interval, but two second-half goals for the Gunners - including one in the fifth minute of added time - was enough to seal the points.

Much of the post-match debate centred around Danny Simpson's sending-off less than an hour into the game, which Ranieri was clearly unhappy about, but he was also quick to praise the performance of his squad a week on from their impressive win at Manchester City.

"I am very proud about my players," he told reporters. "They showed a fantastic performance. They showed the same performance... to Manchester City.

"Then we won, today we lost, but there isn't a difference [in the performance]. We don't think about the title, we think about our performance."

Leicester remain clear at the top of the Premier League table, having lost just three games all season.
