Harry Maguire: 'Leicester City must take character into next game'

Harry Maguire wants Leicester City to "take the character" from their last-gasp 2-2 draw with Manchester United into the Boxing Day trip to Watford.

Harry Maguire has urged his Leicester City teammates to "take the character" from their last-gasp 2-2 draw with Manchester United into the busy post-Christmas schedule.

Claude Puel's side were 2-1 down against the Red Devils at the King Power Stadium on Saturday and also a man down due to the second-half dismissal of substitute Daniel Amartey.

However, summer signing Maguire scored a dramatic equaliser in the fourth minute of injury time, slotting home from Marc Albrighton's cross to salvage a point for the Foxes.

"United are a massive club with a great team and we need to try and take the character into the next game against Watford," the former Hull City man told LCFC TV.

"We've got a great bunch here and everybody is going to fight to the death. We had to keep it at 2-1 for as long as we could, the manager kept saying we'd get one more chance.

"Thankfully it fell to me and thankfully I put it in the corner. That's the first last-minute goal in my career, so it's a special moment for myself, especially against such a prestigious club."

The result sees Leicester go up to eighth place in the table ahead of their Premier League Boxing Day fixture at Vicarage Road.
