Nigel Pearson: 'Spat has galvanised team'

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson feels that his spat with a supporter has galvanised his side in their fight against relegation from the Premier League.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson believes that his spat with one of the club's supporters could galvanise his side into picking up their first Premier League since September on Sunday.

The 51-year-old admitted that he had a disagreement with a fan following his side's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday, and he has insisted that he will not apologise for the incident.

Pearson feels that the spat could be the best thing for his team to bring them closer together in their fight against relegation.

He told reporters: "These things are regrettable, but they happen from time to time and if it brings us a bit closer together then all well and good.

"I think it is good for us and has probably galvanised the feeling within the camp as the players were exceptionally unhappy with one or two things the other night. It has galvanised how we feel.

"It is strange it is really so positive because you would almost expect it to be something different yet there is a collective resilience both in terms of state of mind and physically as well. Hopefully we can get that elusive win. The players know they are doing OK in terms of performances. We are not picking up the points we would like."

Leicester are bottom of the Premier League ahead of their clash against Aston Villa.
