Danny Simpson: 'It is a massive point'

Leicester City defender Danny Simpson believes that his side's last-gasp 2-2 draw against West Ham United will prove to be a "massive" point in the title race.

Leicester City defender Danny Simpson has said that he believes his side's point against West Ham United this afternoon will prove to be "massive" in the Premier League title race.

Two goals in the final 10 minutes had appeared to put West Ham on course for victory at the King Power Stadium after Jamie Vardy had opened the scoring but then been sent off for the hosts.

However, Leicester were awarded a penalty deep into stoppage time which Leonardo Ulloa converted to rescue a dramatic 2-2 draw for his side.

"We have shown today our team spirit and togetherness. We will always fight to the death. We cannot control other things, we can fight and work hard," he told Sky Sports News.

"Jeff Schlupp did well to get a penalty and Leonardo Ulloa slotted it away when there was a lot of pressure on him.

"I think that will turn out to be a massive point, not many teams go 2-1 down and do what we did. Psychologically it will give us a massive boost."

The draw moves Leicester eight points clear of Tottenham Hotspur, who take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Monday night.
