Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is forced off midway through the first half of his side's Champions League semi-final against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has been forced off after just 23 minutes of his side's Champions League semi-final against Barcelona at Camp Nou this evening.

The Guinea international went down with what looked like a groin problem midway through the first half, having been on the end of a heavy challenge moments earlier.

Keita was replaced by captain Jordan Henderson, who had been left out of the starting lineup despite impressing in a more attacking position in recent weeks.

Keita is now expected to be a doubt for Saturday's trip to face Newcastle United at St James' Park in the Premier League, while he could also miss the return leg of the Champions League semi-final at Anfield next Tuesday.

The 24-year-old has made 33 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions this season, scoring three goals.
