Liverpool are reportedly holding out hope that Jordan Henderson and Andrew Robertson will be fit enough to face Leicester City on Sunday.

Liverpool are reportedly optimistic that Jordan Henderson and Andrew Robertson will recover from injuries in time to face Leicester City on Sunday.

The duo did not feature for their national teams at the weekend, with Henderson already confirmed to be out of England's clash with Iceland on Wednesday, although Robertson has been included in the Scotland squad for their showdown with Israel.

Liverpool can hardly afford to have any more players on the sidelines given the plethora of absentees Jurgen Klopp already has to deal with, but the Reds should reportedly be able to rely on Henderson and Robertson against the Foxes.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Premier League champions are confident that Henderson missing out for England is merely precautionary and the Reds captain should be given the green light to line up alongside Robertson this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp already has to make do without Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for a number of months, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara all suffering injuries of their own recently as well.

On a more positive note, Mohamed Salah - who tested positive for coronavirus last week - reportedly has an outside chance of being fit for the visit of Leicester if his next test comes back negative.
