Lucas Leiva eases injury fears following Moussa Sissoko tackle

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva insists that his leg is "fine" following a horror tackle by Moussa Sissoko in Monday's win over Newcastle United.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has insisted that his leg is "fine", despite suffering a horror tackle by Moussa Sissoko during Monday night's Premier League match against Newcastle United.

The Magpies were forced to play the remaining five minutes at Anfield with 10 men after Sissoko was sent off following a second yellow card after a studs-up challenge on Lucas.

Despite the Brazilian wincing in pain on the field, the 28-year-old insisted after the game that there have been no lasting effects.

He wrote on Twitter: "Great win today, my leg is fine , thanks for the messages."

The Reds are now four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City in the Premier League table.
