Fabio Borini optimistic over Liverpool future following Sunderland loan

Fabio Borini is optimistic over his Liverpool future after returning to the club following a loan stint at Sunderland.

Fabio Borini believes that he has a chance to fight his way back into the Liverpool side following his loan stint at Sunderland.

The Italian forward helped pull the Black Cats out of relegation by scoring 10 times in all competitions while at the Stadium of Light.

Borini found the net for the first time since returning to Liverpool in the Reds' 4-0 victory over Shamrock Rovers in their Dublin friendly on Wednesday.

"It's nice to end the season in a positive way and be happy in the holidays," Borini told the club's official website.

"It was a nice feeling in front of the supporters. It's always a great moment for a player to play in front of them. It gave me confidence and hope for the future."

Borini signed for Liverpool in 2012 following a loan stint at Roma.
