Kenny Dalglish: 'We will be tested without Lucas'

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish expects the team to be tested following Lucas Leiva's serious knee injury.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish expects the team to be tested following Lucas Leiva's serious knee injury.

The midfielder was ruled out for the rest of the season after he damaged anterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee during the Reds' Carling Cup win against Chelsea on Tuesday.

"It is a huge disappointment for everybody but more importantly for Lucas," said Dalglish.

"It is at times like this you are tested but we have been happy with the squad and the results reflect that.

"Lucas is not moping about feeling sorry for himself. We can do that, we can feel sorry for him, but we cannot feel sorry for ourselves and we have plenty of people who can have a go and won't let us down."

The Merseyside club travel to Fulham in the Premier League on Monday night.
