Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard could make a comeback from injury just in time for the Reds' hectic festive fixtures.
The 30-year-old has been sidelined for over a month with an ankle infection but returned to full training with the Liverpool squad this week.
The England international could slot back into the first team for the Merseyside club's Boxing Day match against Blackburn Rovers, but it is more likely that the midfielder will return on December 30 against Newcastle United, according to The Mirror.
"If [the injury] wasn't dealt with properly, it could have been more serious," said Dalglish. "But he had fantastic treatment. It's been sorted, it's been solved.
"It was a one-off, not relevant to anything else he's had, so the credit goes to the people who identified the problem. The hard part was when he was first injured. It was just a freak.
"He's done unbelievably well. He does have a really strong character. He's come through and he's desperate to play."
Dalglish's side travel to the DW Stadium to play Wigan Athletic tomorrow.
