Dietmar Hamann: 'No blame for Luis Suarez if he leaves'

Dietmar Hamann urges Liverpool fans not to blame Luis Suarez if he decides to leave the club at the end of the season.

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes that fans should refrain from blaming Luis Suarez if he decides to leave Anfield in the summer.

There have been suggestions that the Uruguay international could depart the Merseyside outfit if the Reds fail to clinch a Champions League place by the end of the season, but the 25-year-old has recently insisted that he is happy at the club.

"Liverpool are not in the big competitions and the reality is they probably won't be next year either," the Liverpool Daily Post quotes Hamann as saying. "Supporters have to understand that you can't blame Suarez if he decides he wants to go at the end of the season.

"If a club comes in for him in the summer that can offer him Champions League football and the chance to win a domestic title, you can't have a go at him if he decides to leave."

Suarez has netted 22 goals for Liverpool so far this season.
