Chris Hughton aiming to silence "super" Luis Suarez

Chris Hughton says that his Norwich team will need to be at their best to keep "super" Luis Suarez in check at Anfield on Wednesday.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton believes that a successful result against Liverpool from Wednesday's visit to Anfield will hinge on how effectively his team negate the threat of Luis Suarez.

The Canaries have failed to combat the Uruguayan in recent meetings, as the 26-year-old goes into tomorrow's clash boasting seven goals in his three previous fixtures with City - six of which came in hat-tricks.

Suarez has netted nine times this season - despite missing the first five matches through suspension - and Hughton admits that his team will need to be at their best to prevent the "super player" from adding to his haul.

"It seems like Suarez is putting everyone to the sword at the moment because he is a super player," Hughton told reporters at a press conference.

"You have to have be on your game because he is as good as there is and we are talking about one of the top strikers in the country.

"When he is on his day, Suarez is very difficult to handle. You just have to be very much on top of your own game and hope he doesn't have one of his better ones."

Norwich sit 14th in England's top flight ahead of the game, while Liverpool occupy fourth, seven points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

Tomorrow's encounter is scheduled to kick off at 7.45pm.
