Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he believes his side are in "a good position" with just one week remaining until the new Premier League season begins.
The Reds have enjoyed a profitable pre-season tour this summer, garnering wins over Bayern Munich, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Hertha Berlin before losing out to Atletico Madrid on penalties after a draw in normal time.
Klopp's men now just have one friendly fixture remaining before the start of the season - an encounter with La Liga side Athletic Bilbao in Dublin tomorrow - and the German thinks that all of their pre-season hard work will deliver a "benefit" once the competitive games begin.
"It was good work and the boys did really well in the [training] sessions," he told the Liverpool website. "It was not easy for them. We travelled a lot; OK, just to Munich and back, Munich and back, but we also had a lot of sessions to do.
"We will get the benefit of it during the season. It's now recovery, day off, game – and then we will start. We are in a good position."
Liverpool begin their new season with a trip to Watford on August 12 ahead of a trip to Hoffenheim three days later for the first leg of their Champions League playoff.
