Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has backed teammate Divock Origi to take his pre-season form into the new Premier League season.
Last weekend, Origi got on the scoresheet as Liverpool secured victory over AC Milan in the United States, and Mignolet has predicted that his Belgian compatriot will build on the productive displays that he delivered at the end of the last campaign.
The 28-year-old told the Liverpool Echo: "He came on and made a big difference and that's what you want to see from him. Let's hope he keeps progressing and evolving as a player.
"If he can stay injury free then I'd expect him to kick on a level this season. Without the injuries last season he would have scored more than 10."
"If he can stay fit and keeps working as hard as he is in the moment then he will score more for us."
Origi scored 10 goals in 15 starts and 18 substitute appearances in his first season at Anfield.
