Simon Mignolet praises 'nasty' Liverpool

Simon Mignolet believes that Liverpool's failure to be "nicey nicey" has been a big reason for their success this season.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has praised the team's 'nasty streak' for their success this season.

The Reds are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table with six games to play.

While the goalscoring heroics of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have helped the Merseysiders challenge for the title, Mignolet believes that the focus and determination of the whole squad has played a huge part.

"Everyone works for each other, everyone is demanding of each other which is always important if you want to win games," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"It is not about being 'nicey nicey' with each other, it is about making sure we do the things right individually and as a group.

"We have some characters in the dressing room who are always there to make sure we train in a perfect manner. It is not only the players who are playing, but also those on the bench and the guys who are not playing."

Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they make the trip to West Ham United.
