Brendan Rodgers continues to play down Premier League title bid

Brendan Rodgers insists that it is too soon for Liverpool to be crowned Premier League champions.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that it is too soon for his side to be crowned Premier League champions.

The Reds are currently six points off leaders Chelsea following Saturday's 5-1 thrashing of Arsenal at Anfield.

"The momentum has been building and building, but I just think it would be unprecedented to go from being where we were last year in seventh position to first," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We've got so many young players who are still growing and developing and our squad is small. So I feel that we've still got work to do."

Liverpool are back in action on Wednesday with a trip to Fulham in the Premier League.
