Brendan Rodgers says that Philippe Coutinho can get even better for Liverpool once he settles in England.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Philippe Coutinho will only get better once he is fully settled in the Premier League.

The midfielder, who provided an assist during his side's 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, has been impressive since joining the Reds from Inter Milan in the January transfer window.

However, Rodgers has no doubts that the Brazilian can reach all new heights once he is comfortable in England.

"He's a very effective player," Rodgers told talkSPORT. "People look at him and he's got magical feet. He's a wonderful technician but if you analyse his game he creates goals and he scores goals.

"I think what the other players have really taken to as well is that he's a really humble boy. He works his socks off. He's still finding his feet at this level in terms of intensity and fitness but as each game goes on he gets better and better.

"We play with three midfielders most weeks and he gives us that fourth man because he jumps inside and in this modern it's a lot about superiority centrally and he's got the feet and the technique to go inside and deal with that. He's a real pleasure to work with and he'll only get better."

Coutinho cost Liverpool £6.5m at the start of the year.
