Brendan Rodgers says that Liverpool will look to rediscover their recent good form in the Europa League on Thursday after losing 2-0 to West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has turned his attention to the Europa League after his side's loss to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Monday.

Steven Gerrard had a penalty saved by Ben Foster for the Reds before Gareth McAuley and Romelu Lukaku struck moments later to snatch Albion a 2-0 win at Anfield.

The defeat brings the Merseysiders' good recent form to an end, but the boss is hoping to rediscover that momentum against Zenit St. Petersburg on Thursday.

"We weren't at our best but we were certainly on the front foot and looking to create. Full credit to West Brom, Foster's made some brilliant saves," Rodgers told Sky Sports News.

"It was a good away performance from them and the longer it was 0-0 the riskier it got. I can't blame Gerrard for missing the penalty, he had a fantastic game and he had the courage to step up and take it.

"I'm just disappointed that our good run, particularly at home, has come to an end. But we gave everything tonight and the keeper had a fantastic match. But we'll go again, we've got an important game in the Europa League on Thursday and we'll be ready for that."

Liverpool travel to face Zenit in the Europa League on Thursday.
