Steven Gerrard: "Operation was a success"

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard reveals that his shoulder surgery was a success.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed that his shoulder surgery was a success.

The Reds midfielder recently went under the knife to mend the long-standing problem and said that there were no complications stemming from the operation.

"I'm very well - the operation was a success according to the surgeon," Gerrard told the club's official website.

"The operation was straightforward; it was something I've been struggling with since January. It did need fixing.

"I just need to get my rehab in place over the summer and I'll be fine for next year."

Despite the injury, Gerrard still made 36 Premier League appearances for the Reds.
