Team News: Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge on Liverpool's bench

Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge will start Liverpool's match away at Crystal Palace among the substitutes.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has opted to leave Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge on the bench for this afternoon's game away at Crystal Palace.

The decision comes as something of a surprise, given that both were rested for the 3-0 win over Manchester City last time out.

As a result, Divock Origi will spearhead the attack, with Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino offering the support from advanced midfield roles.

Meanwhile, in defence Jon Flanagan has been preferred to former Palace right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

As for the hosts, they are without striker Connor Wickham because of a thigh complaint.

His absence has handed an opportunity to January addition Emmanuel Adebayor, while a change in goal has seen Alex McCarthy replace Wayne Hennessey.

Crystal Palace: McCarthy; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare; Zaha, Jedinak, Cabaye, Ledley, Bolasie; Adebayor
Subs: Speroni, Kelly, Lee, Mutch, Sako, Chamakh, Gayle

Liverpool: Mignolet; Flanagan, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno; Henderson, Can, Milner; Lallana, Firmino, Origi
Subs: Ward, Toure, Clyne, Allen, Coutinho, Sturridge, Benteke
