Mohamed Salah does not feature in Liverpool's squad to face Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Mohamed Salah has been left of the Liverpool squad to face Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

On Wednesday night, Salah needed to be substituted during the 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League, and Jurgen Klopp has opted to give the Egyptian more time to rest his groin injury ahead of Tuesday's second leg.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino have dropped down to the bench, but Sadio Mane starts alongside Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke in attack.

Nathaniel Clyne makes his first start of the campaign after a long-term back injury, while Ragnar Klavan is involved again and could feature in a back three with Klopp seemingly deciding to change formation.

As for Everton, Sam Allardyce has made just one change to his starting lineup, with Tom Davies coming into the team to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Wayne Rooney features in central midfield, with Theo Walcott, Yannick Bolasie and Cenk Tosun making up the front three.

Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Jagielka, Baines; Schneiderlin, Davies, Rooney; Walcott, Bolasie, Tosun
Subs: Robles, Martina, Gueye, Niasse, Funes Mori, Calvert-Lewin, Baningime

Liverpool: Karius; Lovren, Van Dijk, Klavan; Clyne, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner; Mane, Ings, Solanke
Subs: Mignolet, Firmino, Moreno, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Masterson, Alexander-Arnold, Jones
