Sadio Mane says that Liverpool have what it takes to end their 29-year wait for top-flight silverware.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has insisted that he and his teammates have what it takes to last the distance in the Premier League title race.

The Reds won back-to-back league games before the international break, as well as edging out Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League, to get their campaign back on track.

Mane's side faced accusations of losing their nerve when drawing four games out of six between the end of January and start of March, but the Senegal international believes that it is part of the club's DNA to see the job through.

Ahead of Sunday's trip to Tottenham Hotspur, Mane told The Mirror: "Of course, this is a big game. It's the first 'final' of seven in a row for us in the Premier League. But this team is prepared to withstand the pressure, I'm sure of that.

"If you look at the history of this club, it has always fought in the most difficult moments and has achieved special things when it seemed impossible.

"Liverpool is a champion team and we've shown that this season, even in matches as demanding as Munich. That result proved to us what we can achieve."

Liverpool, who have not won a league title in 29 years, trail leaders Manchester City by a point after 31 matches.
