Steven Gerrard to leave Liverpool: Twitter reacts

Sports Mole selects tweets from football figures paying tribute to Steven Gerrard's Liverpool career after the midfielder announced plans to leave.

Steven Gerrard has admitted that choosing to end his 25-year career at Liverpool was the "toughest decision" of his life.

The 34-year-old midfielder, who has scored 180 goals for the Reds so far, will shut the door on his Anfield life when the season comes to a close in May.

While Gerrard's next venture remains unclear, the former England captain, who has won 11 trophies including the Champions League, has received widespread praise from former teammates and figures within football.
