Diego Costa signs Atletico Madrid extension

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa pens a three-year contract extension with the club until 2018.

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has signed a new three-year deal with the club until 2018.

The Brazilian had been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, but he has now decided to extend his stay in Spain.

"I am very happy with this deal after fighting for a long time to win the affection of the fans, my teammates and people inside the club," Costa told Atletico's official website.

Costa scored 12 goals in all competitions last season.
