Roberto Firmino 'targeted by Barcelona as Luis Suarez replacement'

A report claims that Barcelona may go after Liverpool's Roberto Firmino if they get rid of Luis Suarez, who is struggling for form.

Barcelona have eyed Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino as a possible replacement for Luis Suarez, according to a report.

Suarez has failed to break the 30-goal barrier since the 2015-16 season and is currently on a six-match scoreless run for the Catalan giants.

The Uruguay international is to be phased out of Camp Nou, with OK Diario reporting that the search is already on for a new player to come in and provide some fresh blood.

Barca have already snatched Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool this year, and the report claims that the Brazilian playmaker has been instrumental in convincing the club to go after his former teammate.

Firmino only signed a five-year deal with the Reds in April, however, claiming at the time that it "was an easy decision".
