Manchester United, Liverpool send scouts to watch Steven Bergwijn?

PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn was watched up close by scouts from Manchester United and Liverpool earlier this month, according to a report.

Manchester United and Liverpool reportedly sent scouts to watch Steven Bergwijn in action, as the race to sign the PSV Eindhoven attacker heats up.

Both clubs were first linked with the 20-year-old earlier this month after being left impressed by his early-season displays.

Bergwijn, who was the subject of enquiries from Torino and Bordeaux during the summer, already has four goals and four assists in 10 Eredivisie outings this term.

That form has led to Man United and Liverpool watching the Dutchman up close, with De Telegraaf suggesting that scouts from the English rivals were present for PSV's loss to Inter Milan in the Champions League.

The pacey winger also scored on his senior debut for the Netherlands in their 3-0 win over Germany last weekend.
