Inter Milan are reportedly poised to offer Steven Gerrard the chance to leave Liverpool in January if the Reds captain fails to agree a new contract.
Gerrard's Anfield future was thrown into doubt when he revealed that he had no intention of retiring from football should he not be offered an extension to a deal which expires at the end of the season, and would be willing to leave his boyhood club to continue playing.
While the New York Cosmos are considered to be a possible destination for the former England skipper, the Daily Mail claims that potential switch to the Serie A giants would be "very appealing" to the midfielder.
Inter Milan have been linked with several players since Roberto Mancini replaced Walter Mazzarri as manager of the Nerazzurri, including Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches and Chelsea's Mohamed Salah.
