Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign former England striker Jermain Defoe.
The 32-year-old is believed to be keen to return to the Premier League this month, having left for MLS side Toronto last year.
The likes of Queens Park Rangers, Hull City and Leicester City have all been credited with an interest in the former Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward, but now Liverpool could be in the running, according to The Telegraph.
It is thought that while Rodgers would have no interest in securing Defoe's services on long-term contract, a deal until the end of the season may appeal.
The Reds have also been linked with a move for West Bromwich Albion frontman Saido Berahino.
