Liverpool have reportedly earmarked Atalanta BC midfielder Ederson as a potential summer transfer target.
The Reds are entering a new era under Arne Slot after appointing the Dutchman as Jurgen Klopp's successor earlier this month.
Slot will be keen to strengthen his squad in a number of areas, including in midfield following the departure of Thiago Alcantara.
After enduring an injury-hit season, the former Bayern Munich man will leave Anfield when his contract expires this summer.

Liverpool ready to make Ederson move
The Reds were believed to be considering a move for Atalanta's Teun Koopmeiners after identifying the 26-year-old as a possible target.
However, according to Tuttosport, Liverpool could shift their focus away from Koopmeiners and step up their efforts to sign his Atalanta teammate Ederson.
The report claims that the Reds recently sent scouts to Koopmeiners in action, but they were ultimately left impressed by Ederson's performances.
Liverpool are now preparing to launch a summer move for Ederson, which could see them end their interest in Koopmeiners.
Such a scenario would suit Juventus, with the Italian giants believed to be one of the main contenders for the Netherlands international.

Liverpool searching for defensive midfielder
Liverpool can strengthen their midfield last summer with the additions of Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai.
However, they are still in need of a top defensive midfielder and Ederson could be the player to fill that void.
The 24-year-old made 52 appearances during the 2023-24 season, helping Atalanta win the Europa League and reach the Coppa Italia final.
In total, Ederson has chipped in with eight goals and two assists in 89 matches following his arrival from Salernitana in 2022.
