Napoli are reportedly keen to invest some of the £24m that they received from the sale of Ezequiel Lavezzi into a deal to sign Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.

Napoli are said to be lining up a bid for Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.

The 27-year-old Slovakian international, whose agent recently expressed a willingness to discuss a new contract at Anfield, has been heavily linked with Premier League champions Manchester City in recent weeks.

Ezequiel Lavezzi completed his move from Napoli to Paris Saint-Germain on Monday and the Serie A club are willing to invest a significant percentage of the £24m fee that they received into a deal for Skrtel, according to the Daily Mail.

Napoli are also understood to be interested in Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles.
