Kylian Mbappe reportedly turned down a move to Liverpool last summer after Paris Saint-Germain slapped a £352m price tag on him.

Kylian Mbappe reportedly rejected a move to Liverpool last summer after Paris Saint-Germain placed a world-record fee on the 24-year-old.

The Frenchman, who signed a new contract reported to be worth between £500,000 and £1m per week after talks with Real Madrid fell through, was offered the chance to leave the Parc des Princes.

The Athletic reports that the Reds were the favourites for Mbappe's signature but the player rejected a £352m move to Anfield, after the French club had ruled out selling the forward to Los Blancos.

The report also claims that the Spanish club are continuing their pursuit of the France international, despite being frustrated by his behaviour last summer, and the player is still keen to seal his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The reigning European champions were that confident of signing Mbappe, according to the report, that they paid a £34m signing bonus into the player's bank account, but pressure from high-ranking Qatari officials and French president Emmanuel Macron convinced him to stay in Paris.

The former Monaco man has featured 23 times so far this season for the Parisians, scoring 20 goals and assisting five.
