Paris Saint-Germain reportedly offer Kylian Mbappe a new contract worth around £800,000 per week in a bid to convince him to stay at the club beyond the end of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offered Kylian Mbappe a lucrative new contract worth around £800,000 per week in an attempt to keep him at the club.

Mbappe's future beyond the end of the current campaign remains uncertain, with his deal at the Parc des Princes due to expire on June 30 as things stand.

Real Madrid have long been regarded as the favourites to snap the 23-year-old up when he becomes a free agent, with Los Blancos reportedly confident that he will make the move to the Bernabeu this summer.

However, PSG have not yet given up hope of convincing Mbappe to stay in the French capital, and Goal reports that they have made one final bid to keep him at the club.

The report claims that PSG are willing to make Mbappe their highest earner - ahead of the likes of Neymar and Lionel Messi - with a contract worth around €50m (£42.2m) per year.

Such a deal would equate to around £800,000 per week, and is a financial package that Real Madrid would likely be unable to match.

The 2021-22 Champions League semi-finalists failed with a number of big-money offers for Mbappe last summer and are now hopeful of signing him for free, although talks between the two parties are understood to have stalled.

Madrid are reportedly refusing to budge on a dispute over the player's image rights, with Mbappe wanting total control but Madrid insisting on a 50-50 split.

PSG would allegedly be willing to grant the World Cup winner's wishes on that front, and as such he is now thought to be seriously considering staying at the newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions.

Any extension would also see Mbappe net a significant signing bonus, making the proposed offer even more lucrative for the France international.

Mbappe recently insisted that "nothing has changed" regarding his future, and reports this week have suggested that he will not make a final decision over his next destination until the end of the current campaign.

The winger has been in prolific form for PSG this season, directly contributing to 55 goals in just 42 appearances across all competitions.

Mbappe has scored 33 times himself in addition to providing 22 assists for his teammates, while his tallies of 22 goals and 15 assists in Ligue 1 alone are both league-leading totals.

Mbappe became the second-most expensive footballer of all time when he joined PSG from Monaco, and he has scored 165 goals and registered 83 assists in 213 outings for the club so far.

Only Edinson Cavani has scored more goals for PSG than Mbappe, who was part of the team that clinched a record-equalling 10th Ligue 1 title at the weekend.

In addition to Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City have both been credited with an interest in the attacker, although the Premier League duo are not thought to be serious contenders for his signature at this stage.
