The Saints are believed to have rejected a £20m bid from Liverpool for the player this summer, as they hold out for a higher offer.
According to the Daily Star, Lallana is keen on sealing a move to the Reds, but is reluctant to hand in an official transfer request.
Liverpool have already completed the signing of Lallana's England teammate Rickie Lambert.
