Liverpool youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira has returned to the club after his loan spell with Brentford was ended early.
The 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder, who joined the League One side last month, was due to stay at Griffin Park until January.
"Unfortunately we were not able to give Joao the opportunity to demonstrate his obvious talent," sporting director Mark Warburton told Brentford's official website.
"I would like to place on record our appreciation to Frank McParland and the Liverpool staff for allowing Joao to spend some time with us."
The Premier League club are expected to send Teixeira out on loan again soon.
