Xabi Alonso to return to Liverpool when Bayern Munich contract expires?

Liverpool are reportedly keen on re-signing Xabi Alonso when his contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in bringing Xabi Alonso back to Anfield when his contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.

The Spaniard is a favourite among Liverpool supporters after he spent five seasons on Merseyside, winning the Champions League and FA Cup.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Bayern are not prepared to offer the midfielder a fresh contract, leading to reports that Liverpool are considering a surprise move for their former player.

Alonso, who will turn 34 later this month, is free to speak to other clubs in January.
