Jan Molby predicts Steven Gerrard will quit England after Brazil World Cup

Steven Gerrard will quit international football after the 2014 World Cup, according to Jan Molby.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby believes that Steven Gerrard will retire from international football after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Gerrard has 107 caps and would equal Sir Bobby Moore's tally of 108 if he plays against Germany.

"I don't think he will play on after the World Cup finals. Steven has alluded to that himself," Molby told the Daily Star.

"He will want to show his best before slipping away from international football.

"Instead of spreading himself too thin, he can focus on helping Liverpool finish in the top four of the Premier League – whether that is this year or next year."

Gerrard missed the defeat against Chile with what was deemed a minor injury.
