Dean Saunders backs Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling at World Cup

Dean Saunders backs Liverpool duo Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge to flourish at the World Cup.

Former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders believes that Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling will make an impact at this summer's World Cup.

The England internationals head into the tournament on the back of superb respective seasons for the Reds, with Sturridge scoring 21 goals in a campaign that took them to within three points of winning the Premier League.

"I think they will [make their mark], they've done brilliant," Saunders told Sky Sports News. "Sturridge has done better than everybody thought.

"The two English lads have done brilliant this season. Sterling has been magnificent this season, and Sturridge has done better than everybody thought."

Meanwhile, Saunders also feels that Luis Suarez will give England 'sleepless nights' when they play Uruguay in the group stages.
