How Manchester City could line up against Dinamo Zagreb

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up for Tuesday's Champions League Group C showdown with Dinamo Zagreb at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City will be hoping to make it two wins from two at the start of their Champions League campaign when they welcome Dinamo Zagreb to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Pep Guardiola's side began their latest quest for a maiden Champions League crown with an impressive 3-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, the first in a run of four successive wins.

City still have to play second fiddle to Zagreb in Group C, though, after the Croatian outfit thrashed Atalanta 4-0 in their opener to end a run of 11 successive group-stage defeats.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the English champions could line up for the contest.

Possible MNC XI vs. ZAG

Out: Leroy Sane (knee), John Stones (muscle), Aymeric Laporte (knee), Kevin De Bruyne (groin)
Doubtful: None

Man City have no new injury concerns following Saturday's win over Everton, with defensive duo John Stones and Aymeric Laporte still sidelined along with Leroy Sane.

Guardiola provided another reminder of City's strength in depth by resting Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and David Silva at Goodison Park, and all three could return to the side for this match.

The main question for the Spaniard is who to leave out; Riyad Mahrez has three goals in his last four games and so will be hopeful of retaining his place, while Raheem Sterling was rested recently and so is expected to start again.

Bernardo could therefore be used in a midfield role should he come into the side, with chief playmaker Kevin De Bruyne ruled out due to a groin injury sustained against Everton.

The defensive injury crisis has not affected City's form so far, but options for changes at the back are limited with Eric Garcia and Taylor Harwood-Bellis the only real alternatives to Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi at centre-back.

There could be changes at full-back, though, with Benjamin Mendy and Joao Cancelo likely to come in for Kyle Walker and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
