Manchester City defender Gael Clichy has claimed that he can have no complaints with his sending-off in the 2-1 defeat to Barcelona.
The Frenchman was dismissed for two bookable offences in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie between the two sides, and despite suggesting that some Barcelona players were fortunate not to be shown yellow cards, he admits that the red card was a fair decision.
"I think if you play by the rule, it's probably two yellows," Clichy told Sky Sports News.
"I did two fouls during the game, I don't even call these as 'big' fouls, so probably after the first booking, if I made four or five fouls and ref is saying: 'okay, that's the sixth one, that's enough' that would have been fair but it was only my second one.
"They made some fouls as well, probably worse than mine, and didn't get booked. But I cannot complain because if you play by the rule it's two bookings."
Clichy will miss the second leg at Camp Nou on March 18.
