Ajax striker Siem de Jong has lamented his side's inability to hold on to their two-goal lead against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old put the Dutch champions 2-0 up after just 17 minutes in their Champions League Group D clash, but goals from Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero saw the game end in a 2-2 draw.
"We still have to get a bit smarter at certain moments sometimes," he is quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.
"That second goal should never happen. When we scored those two goals, we had not even had the better of the game.
"In the second half we did get a few more chances to score. We did have a good feeling. But because of their pressure it became hard for us to play football."
Ajax are currently third in Group D with four points from as many matches, while City are at the bottom with just two points.
