Team News: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero benched for Barcelona clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola opts to name striker Sergio Aguero on the substitutes' bench for their Champions League Group C clash away at Barcelona.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has opted to name Sergio Aguero on the substitutes' bench for their Champions League Group C clash away at Barcelona.

The Argentine striker was expected to return after starting on the bench against Everton at the weekend, but in his place, Kevin De Bruyne will operate at the head of an attack which also includes former Barca B player Nolito.

Guardiola has made a total of three changes to his side from their 1-1 draw against the Toffees, with Pablo Zabaleta, Aleksandr Kolarov and Nolito replacing Gael Clichy, Leroy Sane and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Blaugrana boss Luis Enrique, meanwhile, has made four changes to his XI as Lionel Messi returns in place of Arda Turan.

In addition Jordi Alba, Samuel Umtiti and Andres Iniesta have replaced Jeremy Mathieu, Lucas Digne and Rafinha in the starting lineup.

Manchester City: Bravo, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Stones, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva, Sterling, Nolito, De Bruyne
