David Silva remains hopeful that he will overcome a hamstring injury in time for Manchester City's FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea this Sunday.

Manchester City playmaker David Silva has refused to rule out his involvement in the North West side's FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

The Spain international is a doubt for Sunday's clash after picking up a hamstring injury during City's 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday.

"I'm having tests today and we will see," Silva told the club's official website. "The tests will confirm whether I will be able to play or not.

"I can still feel the injury so I have to wait to see what the tests show, but hopefully I will recover enough to travel with the squad.

"It would be a big blow for me to miss the semi-final because it's a game every player wants to play in. If I can't play, there's always a strong replacement that can come in for me but let's see how things pan out."

Fellow Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic are also preparing for their semi-final clash against Millwall on Saturday.
