Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola describes Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke as "unstoppable" when attacking crosses into the box.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke as "unstoppable" in the air.

Guardiola will take his side to Selhurst Park on Saturday looking to improve their recent form of just one win from their last five Premier League outings.

However, the Spaniard is wary of the threat posed by the Eagles despite Alan Pardew's side sitting 16th in the table.

"They play a lot with Benteke, second balls with all the wingers, with [Andros] Townsend, [Wilfried] Zaha. They are fast and good one against one, [Yohan] Cabaye is an exceptional player," he told reporters.

"The toughest games we will play now [are] away but we know the situation. We want to be there and stay there with the big teams in the Premier League. We have to win. When I see a team I never look at the position of the table.

"I see the games, I try to analyse what they do and especially when they play good, they are strong, it is not easy. They cross a lot and Benteke in the box is unstoppable, but every game is different."

Benteke has scored four goals in nine Premier League appearances for the Eagles since his summer switch from Liverpool.
