Vincent Kompany confident of Manchester City recovery

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany claims that the team will recover from losing to Juventus in their opening Champions League match.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has claimed that the team will bounce back from their losing start in the Champions League.

The Sky Blues fell to a 2-1 defeat to last season's runners-up Juventus at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening, despite taking the lead early in the second half.

Kompany has said that City are not worrying about suffering another early exit from the competition this season.

"We have started our Champions League campaign in a totally different way than the last few years," the Belgian told the Manchester Evening News.

"In fact there's no problem after this defeat. I'm less worried than in the previous years. It was not a panic game and we didn't have the feeling that we didn't know what to do.

"We just played against a tough opponent, the finalist of last season. They were very efficient - they buried the game in a very good way. We were a bit unlucky, but are still confident for what's coming."

City face Borussia Monchengladbach in their next group stage match on September 30.
