Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini reveals that he is planning to fine Mario Balotelli for his late night exploits earlier in the week.

Roberto Mancini has admitted that he was "disappointed" to learn that Mario Balotelli had been spotted exiting a strip club during the early hours of Friday morning.

Reports this morning had claimed that Mancini was prepared to drop the Italian for Manchester City's home match against Bolton Wanderers this afternoon.

Contrary to speculation, Balotelli did start at the Etihad Stadium, scoring one goal in a 2-0 win.

However, he missed several other opportunities, something that Mancini has put down to his late night.

"I didn't read the newspapers," Mancini told BBC Sport. "I will speak to him tomorrow before deciding about the maximum fine I will do. I'm really disappointed.

"I need to speak to him because I don't know what has happened. I will stick with him because he's a good player but I will speak to him tomorrow about the fine. Maybe he missed four goals for this reason."

Balotelli joined City from Inter Milan in 2010.
