Manuel Pellegrini "concerned" by Manchester City form

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says that he is "concerned" about his team's form ahead of their clash at Chelsea.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that his side need to improve following a poor run of form.

The Premier League champions were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough on Saturday, while they suffered a disappointing defeat to Arsenal the week before.

The Citizens travel to league leaders Chelsea this weekend, and the City boss is concerned about their recent performances.

"I am concerned, not because of the Chelsea game, but because in the last two games here at home we didn't score goals and because in the last [five] games here at home we conceded two goals in [four of them]," he told reporters.

"Maybe in one week we threw to the trash all we did in December. We need to try to recover our performance in attack and in defence."

City currently trail Chelsea by five points in the title race.
