Manchester City opened up a three-point advantage at the top of the Premier League with a 3-0 win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium this evening.
The league leaders broke the deadlock in the tenth minute through Sergio Aguero. Fulham defender Chris Baird brought down City winger Adam Johnson inside the area and Aguero stepped up to convert the resultant penalty.
Another mistake from Baird in the 30th minute allowed City to take a two-goal lead into the break. Johnson acquired possession on the right and sent over a cross which Baird deflected into his own goal.
Damien Duff had Fulham's best chance of the half, but he curled his effort from a narrow angle wide of goal.
City continued to dominate the match after the restart and made the points safe 18 minutes from time. Aguero was the creator on this occasion, squaring a pass for Edin Dzeko to roll the ball into an unguarded net.
