Team News: Riyad Mahrez on bench for Leicester City against Manchester City

Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez starts on the bench for the Foxes against Manchester City.

Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez will start on the bench for the Foxes against Manchester City in this afternoon's match in the Premier League.

The Algerian, who missed two games and six training sessions after failing to negotiate a move away from the King Power Stadium on deadline day, travelled with the squad to Manchester on Friday.

As for the starting XI for the away side, Kasper Schmeichel begins in goal, while Harry Maguire and Christian Fuchs are in defence. In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi is partnered by Matty James, while Jamie Vardy starts up top.

Manchester City defender John Stones, who has recovered from a knee injury, is only fit enough for the bench. Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte are chosen ahead of the English international.

Fernandinho captains the side from midfield and is joined by Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne, while Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling start up front.
