Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus is reportedly close to penning a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City have reportedly moved closer to finalising a new contract with forward Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian international has only been competing in the Premier League since January, but his form during 2017 has led to boss Pep Guardiola becoming keen to reward the player with fresh terms.

According to The Telegraph, City are prepared to give the 20-year-old as much as £100,000 per week - an increase of 30% - and extend his deal from 2021 to 2023.

During his time at the Etihad Stadium, Jesus has scored 17 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions, although his early months at the club were disrupted by a broken metatarsal.

Jesus has scored 10 goals in 21 games in the Premier League and Champions League this season, while the youngster was preferred to Sergio Aguero for last weekend's 2-1 victory over Manchester United.
