Manchester City reportedly press ahead with their attempt to secure the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri has reportedly received an official offer from Manchester City.

Rodri has only spent one season at the Spanish giants, but the 22-year-old's performances have led to widespread interest in his signature.

City have been strongly linked with Rodri for a number of months, and AS claims that the Premier League champions have offered the player a deal at the Etihad Stadium.

The report suggests that Rodri will assess his options before making a final decision, although City are willing to press ahead with meeting the €70m (£61.47m) release clause in his contract.

Rodri has made 37 starts and four substitute outings in La Liga and the Champions League during the current campaign.
